wow paperwork

Holy cow I new there would be paperwork but wow. I am just getting started and already have writers cramp.
Anyone think of a good way to get it all done properly so we don't have to repeat steps?

My short answer is, if your agency didn't give you a checklist, then make one. Our homestudy and placing agencies were both great about giving them this time; the first time I remember making our own for certain parts of the process. Then dh and I would split up the lists and then check them off as they got done, putting the finished products in a special place.
Good luck! It does get better. And once the paperwork's done and all you can do is wait, you may miss it in a strange way. I know that as long as we were doing it, we felt we were actively moving forward, whereas while waiting for referral and now for guardianship, we feel less in control, if that makes any sense...

I think you will start to feel less overwhelmed with each item is checked off the list. I agree and sorta miss the paperwork when I am waiting. It DOES make it feel like you are moving forward! And ut keeps you busy!

Hi Deninew! I'm just starting too and drowning in a sea of paperwork! To make matters worse, my husband is not much help in this department.... I feel your pain.

I typed what I could rather than hand write.

For instance, our agency gave us questionnaires to fill out, so I just replicated the form. I typed the question and then typed the answer. My husband was also able to do this easily when he filled out his form(s). Otherwise, it might have been harder to get him to attend to his part of the paperwork.

For the most part, the agencies forms are less "formal" than forms for a dossier and you might be able to get away with this.
