Question regarding international stepparent adoption..
I have a question regarding my husband adopting my 12 yr old daughter from my first marriage. We have not heard or seen my ex in 3 1/2 yrs and as such he has paid no CS etc. The problem lies in that I am a US citizen, my daughter is as well. My divorce was handled in WA State where we were both born and raised. My husband is dutch and we reside in the Netherlands now. I was wondering if we would need to do the adoption here or in WA and if we did it here if it would be legal in the U.S.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-) janet
