I am waiting for a referral from China, and just got devasating medical needs regarding my wife. Does anyone know about medical requirements from the CCAA. At this point, I am fearful to tell my agency.

I am so sorry to hear that. I really don't know what to tell you- but I am praying for you. I know this has to be a hard choice- I am all for telling the truth, but if it means losing your child- oh my. Sometimes I wish the world wasn't unfair- if this child was born to you the question wouldn't even need to be asked. Bless you and what you are going through.

My first question to you is, "How far into the process are you?" Had your wife's doctor already signed off on her medical report prior to learning of this new development? We're adopting from Kaz, so I don't know how detailed China's medical form is, how extensive they are, etc. However, if whatever is wrong with your wife is something that wouldn't necessarily be picked up with a general exam, then I would suggest having her see a new doctor expressly for the purpose of signing off on the medical form.
With that said, I guess my next question would have to be, "Is what’s wrong with your wife something that would limit her ability to care for a child? Is it a life threatening condition, or is it not that serious. You described it as devastating, so I assume it isn't something simple. Is it something chronic -- something she will have to deal with for the rest of her life -- but not something that would impede her ability to parent? Good luck; I hope everything works out for you.

Thank you both for your replies and well wishes. The medical form is already in China. Her medical condition could be life threatening, in a very short amount of time. We have waited so long for our daughter. We are already a family.
