3 older children...at once?
Hello,
My wife and I were lucky enough to host a 10 year girl from Ukraine during the summer, and are now pursuing her adoption. Well, a few days after she arrived, we found out that there were 2 brothers who's host family dropped out at the last minute, so we offered to have them stay with us, and they did for a bit over a week. So we had all three, 1 girl 10 years old, and 2 brothers 9 and 10 years old. The 2 boys are from a different orphanage than the Girl. We are considering all 3 at once, though we have serious concerns, based on many things we've read regarding attatchment, and issues of the closeness in age etc... We're not sure it is even possible, but can anyone please give feedback, both the pros and cons of such adoptions? Are there any good sites that discuss the issues, again both the good and the bad to simultanious adoption of older children? thanks! Last edited by mikie : 09-21-2004 at 03:21 PM. |

Since you have all the children with you -- and how wonderful for you to be able to consider adopting all of them! -- how about having them evaluated by an adoption pediatric specialist?
