I know most of us have seen some of the websites out there that familes build or use to chronicle their international adoption.
They are usually in a journal format, and they have some pictures that the family uploads to the webiste. I would like to do something like that for my adoption. I am a fairly technically adept person, but I'm no computer programmer. Can anybody point me out to a starting point for building a website like this? (You can PM me if you want to)

Hi there. I just created mine at www.tripod.com. Let me tell you, if I can do it ANYONE can!! It is very simple to do. You can see our website (me and longhorndaddy) if you click on the www thingy below by my profile.
I have a question on this as well though. Does anyone know how to get registered/pay money to be with a search engine like google? I haven't figured out how to do that yet and want people to be able to pull up our site to help them out. I am lost on that part. Good luck alabamadad2be!

AlDad2Be,
I like Yahoo!, because they only have one small banner ad, and you can close it. It also has a pretty easy to use page builder. Doxie, Below are the URL's for suggestion your site on the larger search engines. Good luck! Yahoo! Submit Your Site Google Submit Your Site AltaVista Submit Your Site

Tripod would be my choice too. They were really easy to work with. Had a lot more difficulty with Yahoo. There should be a link that they sell you a domain from the start up page.
Good luck and let us know.

I am not a Computer Wizard
I am not a computer wizard, but I created ours on www.freeservers.com. It was really easy, you can load pictures, you can add many pages, a slideshow, a photo album, etc. It was really easy...you can look at our web page at:
www.rogerandcathlena.4t.com it is still a work in progress as we continue on this journey. Good Luck.

How about a blog?
For those who may not want to do a complete web site, how about a blog? You can document the process, your feelings, and emotions in a simple online journal/diary. There are a ton of free blogs available online, but this is one I tried: www.socialjournal.com

Our ISP has a certain amount of space which we used for our website. We purchased/registered a URL for it from Register.com.
http://www.frontiernet.net/~dancase The blog suggestion is a good one too. Somebody out there did a blog about their Kazakhstani adoption of two boys. I can't recall the URL right now.
