I got my I171H:)

I fianally got my I171H!!YIPPEE!! But there is no notarized signature on it. Is this form suppose to be notarized so I can have it apostilled? Do I even get an apostille for this? I am so confused right now. The only reason I have been waiting to get my dossier apostilled is because of this form. Now I don't know what to think.

Is an agency helping you put together your dossier? I don't specifically know how it is done in Ukraine, but for our I171H, we will make a photocopy of it and attach a form to the photocopy that has a space for our county and state and our names at the top, the following words in the middle:
Being duly sworn, deposes and says:
1.The attached copy of the Notice of Favorable Determination Concerning Application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition(INS form 171-H)

2.All statements in the document are true and correct.

3.The attached copy has not been altered in any way and is a true copy.

Then we will sign at the bottom of the form in front of a notary and then send it for the authentications.

My understanding is that you need to keep the original I171H for when you travel.

Thanks Sienna! I went back through our manual and it said to attach an attestation letter with it and that gets the apostille. Then I was confused if I send the original or a copy with my dossier to Ukraine, but the more I read it the more it seemed I needed to keep the original and you just further confirmed that for me. Thanks again! I am so excited. I should be sending our dossier off tomorrow. I am doing a happy dance

Thanks Doxie! We are using an agency that works with a facilitation team out of Washington D.C. So far we are pleased with them. I see you are starting your homestudy today. Congratulations and don't stress over it. I thought that was the easy part
