Info on Russia vs. Ukraine
We are Nebraska residents looking to adopt from Russia or Ukraine. We are working on our homestudy and still can't decide which country or which agency. If anyone has feedback based on experiences with Russian or Ukrainian adoption please respond. Also, our agency search has narrowed to Adoption Links Worldwide, Elina Adoption Service or Adoption Miracle. Any feedback on these agencies would also be GREATLY appreciated!

Ukraine vs Russia
We went back and forth between Russia and Ukraine also. The two biggest issues I feel are the age of the child and the cost. If you want an infant...you won't get an infant in Ukraine unless he/she has one of the "medical conditions". Russia is more expensive, you have to take 2 trips (in most regions). We are going independent in Ukraine and hope to adopt 2 toddlers. Russia is also much more paper intense. Hope this helps some. Good luck on your adoption journey!!

Thanks for the response. A toddler age child is okay with us, but we have also been told that the Ukraine stay is 3-4 weeks and that a 30 day waiting period may be imposed. We have 3 bio kids and don't want to be away that long. Also have to think about vacation time from work. However, the one trip idea is what got us looking at Ukraine. Good luck with your adoption. I hope everything works out quickly and smoothly.
