Announcing a referral ideas...
Hi,
We are the next in line for a referral and we are trying to come up with a creative way to announce it to our family. Does anyone have any ideas? With our daughter, at a family dinner we passed out index cards with a word on each. They had to put the cards together in a sentence that said we were expecting. It took them 10 minutes to figure it out and then 5 more to believe that we were telling the truth ! Help! Marsha |

Gosh, you're already more creative than I was. We just sent out an email with her photo and answers to all the questions we could anticipate.

cards
I would send a card with clues on it or have a family game like a puzzle of her/his picture. I have seen it done. I think those picture places in the mall can do it. I would bring the puzzle out after dinner and have them put it together.

I can tell you what we are in the process of doing!! We're taking a couple pictures from the referral, and our daughters updated pictures, and having them put on a puzzle to be sent to each of the family members. We are sending a riddle note along with it to entice them even more. On the back of the puzzle we will have our announcement (the front will be her pictures). Since this will be our first child, we are mailing it out in the middle of the week and hoping all receive it on a Thursday. We won't be answering the phone on Friday, but will be going home for the weekend (3 hours and both families in the same town) to fill them in!!!
With 5 sisters and 2 brothers and 19 neices and nephews, plus this being the first grandchild on one side, we expect a lot of phone "chatter" between all!! 8) 8) !! Yes, it is a little risky and ornery, but we've heard about the "no kids" thing for 18 years!!! T and L |

We are adopting from Korea. http://heartandsoul.com has adoption T-shirts that you can order. I had a T-shirt with the word baby with an arrow pointing down to a map of Korea (Kind of like those cheesy T-shirts for pregnant women who have baby with an arrow pointing down at their stomachs). My husband took a digital picture of me wearing the shirt. Then we emailed my mother-in-law with the pictures attached. The message on the email said, "Merry Christmas Grandma". Good luck!
