Choosing a Country

We are having so much trouble choosing a country. We know that we want to adopt a healthy, young (under 6 months) baby (preferably a girl), and are willing to consider any country. Any suggestions?

...

Have you talked to your adoption agency? I swear it seems like each one gives a different reply!

We are adopting from Russia, and hope to get one under a year. I know the youngest (by what we were told) is 6 months there.

Also seems like Guat. is another country that adopts newborn, but w/ the problems going on right now, I dont think I would look there.

Good luck

We are also having trouble on which country. We were looking at Colombia but you can't request a girl. Panama has very young children and you can request sex I think but the stay there is around a month I have heard. We can't be there that long but if you could, maybe that could be a direction for you.

I recently heard of a family who adopted a 3 month old girl from the country of Georgia. They just recently started adoptions.

I think Korea might be a good choice. The babies are healthy and receive EXCELLENT care! The usually arrive home between 3-6 months of age. You can request a girl if you have all noys, but if you have no children or both genders, you must be open to boy or girl. The only exception is if you are willing to accept some minor specilal needs you can request a girl no matter how man ygirls you already have!!!
