I'm a single woman living in New York City and I'm looking into adopting an infant from the Republic of Georgia. I really want a girl, as young as possible.

I'd love to hear about your experience with Georgian adoption, agency recommendations/contact names, and any other advice you might have for me. One of my concerns is the potential for health, developmental, and emotional problems that I keep hearing about and I'm wondering how your children are doing.

I have not adopted from Georgia. However, I recently met a couple adopting from there. They mentioned that they are using Carolina Adoptions. They have a website if you'd like to check them out.

Adoption Aid International offers a program for Georgia. I have not used them, but they were our second choice. We ended up going with a local agency here in Missouri. But I did talk on the phone twice with someone from AAI. They were VERY friendly and very helpful.....even making some long distance calls to find us a home study agency in my area that fit our needs -- and this was without a commitment from us.
