Russian Adoption Agencies
Hi everyone. My husband and I have just started researching agencies. We would like to adopt a little girl from Russia. It seems that there are so many agencies, and all of the fees seem to vary greatly. We are in Chicago. Does anyone have any suggestions? And what is an appropriate range for fees?

Hi Lori!
I would like to take an opportunity to work for you in adopting a baby from Russia. As I mentioned before, coming from Russia and having partners in Russia can only accelerate the adoption process. We deal in a professional manner with our clients and complete the whole process in a relatively short period of time finding you the right child. We guarantee you, with us adopting a baby from Russia would be easier than it looks. And in the matter of months you would have a new baby living with you in your house. To answer you question about the cost and the process. The cost would all depend on the age of the children. If you are interested in an infant: up to 1 year- $15,000 1-3 years of age - $13,000 3-5 years of age - $10,000 If you are thinking on adopting 2 or more babies, the price would go less 20% of the original price. I was just on the phone with one of the officials from the Department of Education in Russia, Siberia Region.I was also told by this official that in order for a process to be completed in that specific region it will take about 10 days to review the documents that they would get from us. In return we would have to get the social worker's reports, your dossier, etc. from you, after that the documents will be mailed to the Department of Education in Moscow and will be reviewed for another 10 days. Then you would be able to get an invitation to visit the children in Russia. Once you have picked your child we would be able to appeal to the court for the adoption process to begin. Here are my references Tom Cooper, MI, Jackson (517) 784-4124, and Malcolm and Jean Stanley MB, Portage la Prairie (204) 857-9074 Living in Russia I have visited a great number of orphanages with Canadian and American missionaries, and having an opportunity in meeting with a lot of principals of orphanages only strengthened our contacts. I would like to help you out in this new venture of yours. If you have any questions or would like to discuss the process further in details, you may contact me by email at sgailit@shaw.ca or call me at (204) 339-7300 Sincerely, Serguei |

Hi Lori,
My husband and I have also just started researching agencies hoping to adopt from Russia. It seems fees will vary a bit depending on what is included. Some agencies include translator and driver fees in the totals, others do not. I've heard the total, give or take a couple thousand, is around 20-26 thousand. There is another site which has a great deal of posts on this subject.....ivfconnections.com (go to bulletin boards...then other infertility paths) I found it helpful with what to expect during the process. We've been looking at Children's House as an option, but are still waiting for more literature from other agencies. If you want I can send you a breakdown of the costs given to me by Children's House. Good Luck, Laura ![]() LMAC7@yahoo.com |

russian adoptions
Hello. I am currently adopting from Guatemala, but did a lot of research in other countries. Check out all agencies at www.theadoptionguide.com and the BBB. Be very careful. There is a Russian woman who was a judge in Russia named Irena Orear. I think her web site is www.russianlawyer.com. She charges $9,000.00 plus travel and lodging. She goes too so you have to pay for her as well. This would be an independent adoption and you may have to travel three times. good luck. michelle
also. ask mary mooney at the adoption guide who she recommends. she has someone for $10,000-13.000. |

We used EAC (European Adoption Connections) and had a fantastic experience. We were planning to use them again for #2, but decided against international adoption because of the current iraqi conflict.
Though it can be expensive, we had no hidden fees or anything to pay for once we were in Russia and their in Russia staff was awesome. We had drivers, people to help us order dinner, and even gave us a walking tour of the Kremlin. Good luck to you!
