Overwelmed In Indiana!

Hi all, my husband and I are beginning the process of adopting from Russia. We have our homestudy nearly complete but are overwelmed with the choices of agencies. Could you please PM me and let me know which ones you all used. I'm completely paralyzed for fear of choosing the wrong agency. Thanks, Kris

There are many, many good ones and Many bad ones. What I would do is first get information from all the ones you are interested in, then you can narrow it down. YOu can go here and on Frua.com and ask questions about specific agencies. You can look at thier paperwork and drop the ones that are out of your price range or that have something that makes you uncomfortable. (Some have thier own rules in addition to the country rules, some may require you to use thier social worker, which may be expensive or not convienient, some reccomend classes, which are a very good idea, etc.) Then you can also ask the agencies for references to contact, these should be families who adopted in the last year. If an agencie refuses or gives only one or two I would keep looking. I would ask the agency questions about if they are accredited and how many adoptions they completed last year. Then you can compare answers and prices side by side (just remeber that when comparing prices some add in other costs that others leave out, like immigration, paperwork, homestudy, travel etc, that can make comparing difficult.
