I am excited to share about our great experience adopting our son from Russia. We adopted him almost two years ago from Kashin, in the region of Tver. What a joy to go and meet him, and then to bring him home.
My wife and I are about to get a refferal for another little boy tomarrow (I only know this because we got a message on the v-mail today, but got it too late to return it). We are excited to grow our family once again. I am writting this to anyone thinking of international adoption. It is such a wonderful experience. To see the country, to go to the orphanage, to bring a little child into your home!!! Gavin (our 2 year old) is talking more and more each day. We remember all the little moments along the way. Any what a dream it was to be in Russia, waiting to get our little boy. I am so excited once again to take the journey. |

What agency did you use? Did you research much?

I am not sure they will alow me to post this, because of a new policy Adoption Forums has, BUT here goes...
www.frankadopt.org They were great. AND we got our refferral yesterday for our newest edition. If everything checks out with the Doctor and his medical papers, we will be traveling in about a month to go visit. As to your other question, we researched them as much as we thought we needed. We first found them on the net, and then we asked the lady who was doing our homestudy what she thought. We used a local person who only does homestudies, and then used the agency to go overseas with. I think it was a little more that way, but were very happy with the results. Ditto on Gavsdad's remarks. Our son was adopted from Angarsk Russia and is the love of our lives. Russia is an incredible country and we truly enjoyed our stays there!

and Tyler's too.
We have been back from our 2nd trip with our new son now for two weeks. We now have BOYS. It is fun, exciting, and tireing too. Tyler came from Samara, Russia. This region gave us the opportunity to experience the Russian airplane service at its finest. I could say the flying bus.
Tyler came home at 8 months old, very healthy. ***Important note to anyone in the process of adopting from Russia.*** If you get a medical back that sounds scarry, check it out with a doctor who has had experience with Russian adoptions. They put a lot of things on the medical to get the children out of the country. Our son was suppose to have a heart problem and hip displasia. The truth is, we got a healthy baby boy. We saw this with our first son too. |
