Any Asian adoptees by Asian Parents - Challenges?

Hello,

I just adopted a little boy from Korea this past year. Even though I am Asian, I am not Korean. I was wondering if there were any Asian adult adoptees who were raised by Asian families on the forum. Can you tell me about your experiences and challenges growing up. I would like to be prepared when my kids are older and ask me questions.

If anyone has some info links, I will be interested as well. Thanks for your help.

Good question but I don't know many Asian adoptees who were adopted by Asians. Perhaps the following web sites could help out? Inter-Country Adoption Support Network and ▒▒ G.O.A.L - Global Overseas Adoptees' Link ▒▒ (web site for Korean adoptees). The Evan B Donaldson Adoption Institute also published a research paper called, "The Gathering of the First Generation of Adult Korean Adoptees: Adoptees' Perceptions of International Adoption" Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute - while it didn't specifically cite Koreans adopted within Asian families, still I think the findings of the gathering are useful.

I hope this info helps.

I am a Korean adoptee who has adopted a little boy from Korea. I was not raised by an Asian family though. It will be interesting to see how my son's experience differs from mine.
