Question International Adoptees

I have wanted to adopt a child from China for at least 12 years and now that we are moving closer to starting the adoption process, I've been thinking a lot about how adoption will affect our daughter-to-be. For that reason I'm asking everyone here who has been adopted internationally to please share your story. If you are willing, I will also post it to my blog. I would like to know how you felt growing up, what your lives were like, how you experienced going back to your birth countries and possibly meeting birth parents (if you've done that), etc. I would really appreciate participants. This is not for personal gain other than to gain insight in how this will affect our child. I will give you full copyright to your stories. Please email me at stobbia@mweb.co.za if you are interested. Thank you,
Veronika

The following book, "The Colour of Difference", chronicles international adoptees' responses to your questions. It's a book that's widely circulated within the international adoptive parents' association in Queensland, Australia as well as elsewhere
Federation Press - Book: The Colour of Difference

Another highly recommended book is: Adoption Parenting - Creating a Toolbox, Building Connections

Oh my, that would be a book. Hard to chronicle in a single post. You can check out either of my blogs if you'd like. I write one for this site and one of my own. Also, grant writes the China adoption blog for this site (China Adoption Blog).
