Born May 13, 1983
I am a Korean adoptee that is looking for any information that people might have on my family. I was born May 13, 1983 in Seoul, South Korea. I was adopted when I was still a baby, so I do not remember anything of my life in Korea. I do not know if I have any siblings and I do not know a lot of information about my birth parents. I realize that it is very possible that my birth parents do not want to be contacted, but if anyone might have some information I would really appreciate it if you would contact me. Thanks!

Hi Leah,
I'm also a Korean adoptee. I read your post and wanted to reply since I was born on May 7th in 1983, also in Seoul! Recently I've been having a similar dilemma regarding finding my birth parents. So I wish you good luck with your search as well. Kim ^_^ |

Wow I was also born in Seoul but one day later! May 14, 1983. I am in the same boat as you in finding out information about myself. I've been searching for so long now and it's really been trying...

I just wanted to say Good Luck to all of those that are searching for their biological families and also don't give up! Also, I have friends that have tried to search for their families through adoption agencies. I'm not sure who has tried this, but as far as I've been told, that seems to be a dead end, due to it being an international adoption. If you have any contacts over in South Korea I would suggest going through them. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for replying.

finding your birth parents
Dear Everybody: i'm not really sure what you've tried, but i'm an adoptee from california and i found my birth mother in korea. it is VERY possible to find your parents even if you are an international adoptee.
i would suggest going through your own adoption agency and getting information like your adoption/case number. if you were adopted through HOLT international, you can request things like a search, or even files that they have on you. i found that they had a lot more in my file than in the one that they had given my family. if you are a korean american adoptee, asides from contacting HOLT, i would also contact GOAL (global overseas adoptee link). http://goal.or.kr/new/ good luck to you all. blasfemme
