Smile Subsidy waiting list

The hearing to finalize our adoption is later this month . We're adopting a 2 year old with specials needs. The biggest concern was being able to keep her medicaid because of her needs. We were told yesterday that we were approved for the subsidy waiting list and when funds become available we would start receiving it. We actually didn't even expect that but it would definitely help since she'll probably be in diapers for another year.Has anyone ever been on the list?

Are you approved for state subsidy or federal (title iv4)? I've not heard of a waiting list... We're in the process of adopting now & approved for federal $$

I'm not sure if it's the state or federal subsidy yet. CW informed me via email yesterday and we will have to sign the paperwork. I didn't think to ask because we were in shock to even get that.

funny that this was brought up today.. I am having the same wonder. Mine at this point is just if my FS will qualify.
What I understand of it is that any one getting state funded is being waitlisted..I dont think that happens with federal. I could be wrong.
I wondered how long a wait is it.. even if you do get on that list!! My thinking is that the way things are in this state.. it could be years.. if ever before youre name gets to the top of that list!!!!
Any one know that for sure or been through it?

We have been denied IV-E funding but also put on the state waiting list. The state has NO money in the account for adoptive parents is what we are being told by many sources. We were told it is a budgeting issue. When there is money put into the account it goes by priority not where you stand on the list. Families who have adopted sibling groups come first, then single child adoptions then anyone over 18 who somehow still gets state funding. We were told not to hold our breath about getting any funds. Maybe someone has heard something different if so please share... I am very upset with being put on a waiting list for something that I will probably never get. It is an insult to adoptive families.

We were also told if we were put on the list not to ever expect to see a penny.

o.k. My appeal is just in..minutes ago. and we were approved for state subsidy agreement. However, I dont have the agreement in hadn yet. Just the info that he is eligible. Which means medcaid can continue ( what a relief) but Im wondering about the wait list for payments.. I dont really care that much about that part.. I really was hoping to keep medicaid and maybe get non recurring expenses covered. since they are offering this though, I would like to know more about it. any one out there with hands on experience with Indiana??

One thing to note if you do get the medicaid, and/or any state money, none of it will transfer if you move out of the state.

I've heard there is no state money at all.
