its been 3 wks and I haven't heard a word. I have no idea if and when they'll do the home visit or whats next or anything. I'm figuring they are doing or did the background checks.

In our case the lw waited until she received all the references back and background checks before she did the homestudy. Did you have fingerprints done too? That could be another hold up.

I would just call them and find out if they've received everything that they need. I know one of our references took a while to hand in their paper that they had to fill out. When the lw told me I lit a fire where one needed to be lit .

ditto what kermitdfrog said one of our references just hadn't bothered yet.. ahh definetly call them and ask where the process is at if your just sitting in a pile it helps to get you moved to the top.

thank you both! I hadn't thought of references taking awhile to get back. we did have the fingerprinting done but the results were back before our packet was turned in. I'll email her and ask her if she has everything she needs and where we are at. (I'm picking emailing b/c so far, I've gotten a response and a quicker response than by phone)

I emailed her asking if there was anything needed, where things was at, what the next step is. hopefully I'll hear back from her soon. meanwhile, I'll just keep up with our day to day stuff. thanks again!

update:

she did get back w/me the other day. we've made an appt for her to come to the house on wednesday afternoon. to go over our paperwork. she said it looks like I had it all completed though. not sure if she'll do much if anything of the home visit yet.
