What were you told?
I was reading the other thread about how long people waited and I wondered what you all were told while going through classes. We are in a county just outside Evansville. The CW teaching our class works in Evansville. She has said numerous times during the classes that E'ville is completely full. They are placing all kids in other counties right now. In the past 2 weeks, she said they have placed 3 babies out of county. When we met with our county CW this week, she also said E'ville is full and she has received several kids and babies in the past few weeks from them.
Were you guys told there was a huge need / no homes / likely quick placements? If so, was that accurate? The CW said she could not tell us how long we would wait because you never know when a child will enter care, but she does not think we would sit empty for too long. (And we are only open to babies.) Oh, we are going directly through the county if that makes a difference.

Sounds like you're in a good area to get a placement quickly!
No, we weren't given any timelines when we went through training. Because of where we live, our training was for several counties, and no mention was made of any county being full. |

our county does the classes w/another and we weren't given a time frame on anything not the licencing part or the placement time frames. I'm in the middle of getting our home study complete. turned the packet in 2wks ago and haven't heard a thing yet.

Our counties doesn't do their own training either. It seems like one county doesn't really know what the others are doing. So we weren't given a time frame in class. But from what I have read on here its seems like its either before you are licensed for the bigger counties or six months or later for the smaller ones.
If it was me and I hadn't heard anything after 2 weeks or turning in my packet I would call or email just to make sure thing were ok. Just be like just making sure everything was filled out correctly or something like that. This way you don't get lost on someones desk.
