How Long from turning the home study packet in to home visit?

though it probably does very by county? I'm wondering whats about the average time frame for them to be ready to come to the house after turning in the packet?

I think it took a couple of months for us. I know from the first class until we had children in our home was 6 months.

Wink Our county...

I had this same question a week or so ago. I called our agency and talked with someone who said that from the time we send in a completed packet it should be around about two weeks before the homestudy begins.

We live in Lake Co., which is north west indiana (near chicago) and I have been told there is an over abundance of children who need homes here... so I don't know if that means we're pushed through faster or ???

Either way, somewhere I read that the process takes between 3-6 months from initial inquiry to licensing.

...we'll see!

thank you both for replying. they told me on the phone that it was possible to receive the packet, get it done and be licenced w/in a month. sounds like it could be awhile before they decide to come out and do the home visit let alone be ready to submit our paperwork for approval.
