Smile How is everyone doing?

How's everyone doing?

Our fc will be reunified in a couple of weeks. I am both excited and sad. I'm excited for the kids and their bio family. However, I'm sad for my family's loss. The bios have said they would like to continue contact after the kids are home for awhile. I hope we are able to.

So, now I'm back to wondering if it's "the call" everytime the phone rings. We were placed with our current fc before our previous fc left. So, I figure the same thing could happen this time. Or we could go a month without a placement. Who knows.

Has anyone else received any calls for new placements recently?

Hi bluebird! I always hated waiting for the phone to ring! We received our Fs's newborn brother last month Our other two spots are kinda 'reserved' for our AD's sibling if we ever get them placed here.

Well K is on cw number 3. They continued his case for another 2 months because the cw didn't show.

We haven't had a call in a little over a year so when it rings I don't jump like I use to.

I still have my newborn placement. DCS recommended me to the court over bio GM. birthmom still testing dirty (even added new drugs with the last test) BD still in jail. CW and judge both think that birthmom will just drop out of sight soon since she hasn't done anything on her plan yet and seems more interested in getting stoned than getting her baby back.

Peanut is doing well and we are bonding just fine

Well, that was Friday morning so no. The new cw didn't bother to come to court. I had to tell her that they moved it up a few days and changed the courtroom. So does anyone know about Court 13 at Marion County?

Court 13 is TPR court. There are 2 judges.....a man and a woman. We've only dealt with the woman. Even though she denied termination, I know she was left with no other choice really......evidence wasn't there.

Good luck!

Well, 2 of our kids are going home. The baby sibs to my other kids. 1 is a year (been w/ us since 2 mos) and the other is almost 7 mos (been w/ us since 2 mos). The closer we get, the more emotional the kids are getting. Its much harder to do RU when its their siblings involved.

Things are a mess w/ the 3 yr old's case, and the baby going back doesn't help our case. After 2+ years in care, she'll likely go back to biomom.

Older kids are still in a standstill. They are having a hard time with why they can't change their name to ours and why the judge is taking so long to make his decision. We are getting closer to 3 years in care for them.......its been a long ride for them.

Hope everyone else is having more success than we are. We are trying to keep the faith, but its been a hard road lately.

lakin11- I can't imagine the emotional toll that having several cases going on at the same time takes on you. We've only ever had one case at a time.

I hope things get easier on your family soon.

kermitdfrog- Are you very limited on the placements you will take? I can't imagine going a whole year without a placement call. My cws have assured me that I won't wait long. But I guess they can say just about anything.

bluebird38- we were actually liscensed for 8 kiddos but I told them to bring it down to 3. With my dh on swing shifts I could never handle that many on my own.

I should say that we did adopt our dd the day after Christmas last year but haven't had a call for any other children since June of last year.

One of the cw's said that they are pushing more and more for the children to stay w/ relatives and another said that they have just been bringing in teens and that's out of my age range.

Well I'm in Boone county and I was told they are pretty busy and they always need homes. I was trying to decide if I should quit my job now or not so I asked how it was on staying busy.

That's what I assumed. Funny thing, K's cw swore there was no such thing as Court 13.

Court 12 and 13 are in a separate building....like next to the regular juv courts. Not sure what happened to 'courts' 5-11, but hey......what do we know? (or need to know)
