I am new to fostering. I wondered if there was a certain time of the month in Indiana that the per diem checks were sent out. We've had our fc for roughly 8 weeks. I know that asking about "the money" may be looked at as a bad thing to do. But with new seasons comes the need for new clothes, etc.
Thank you bluebird38 |

Definitely don't be shy about it. Ask the case manager!
I don't have any kids yet, but our agency requires us to turn in an "attendance sheet" every month before we can receive the per diem.

Probably depends on your area in some part, but in Marion County they usually cut checks anywhere from the 14th to 16th, and if luck blows in the right direction we have them in a couple days. We get a Newsletter each month that tells us when that months checks will be cut. For instance, we were paid for February on March 14th.

Hancock County sends theirs out the last working day of the month like clockwork.

I basically deal with 3 counties. 1 receive one counties on the 1st of the month without fail. Another county is anywhere from the 1st - 6th of the month. The last county I always receive it the 2nd Saturday of the month.
