Christina...

I know you don't get on here much anymore, but just in case you do, let me know how Whyatt's hearing went.

Still no word from the cw. I sent her an e-mail asking about the status of the relative and she hasn't gotten back to me. Doesn't seem very encouraging.

S left this morning. Hubby got a little misty eyed, kind of surprised me. I was pretty calm about it, but it's just too quiet here now with just baby J.

Hope all went well today!

Krissy and Shannon,

Thanks so much for checking up on me. I have been very busy lately with two court hearings within the last two weeks. Plus, my hubby and I are in a wedding on the 24th of this month. He is the bestman (of course!) and I am the matron of honor.

OK.....Gregory's hearing was on the 1st. There was no mention of Gregory's injury (the one that we got less than two weeks of moving back home) or the fact that he was not taken to the Dr. until I emailed (about four days AFTER the injury) the caseworker. Nor was there any mention of the situation where he fell out of their trailer window (within the first month of him moving back home).

Furthermore, CASA recommended no more visitation with us (because she is for the parents and because we told her several months ago that we hope that this is her last case and that she does not stay a CASA volunteer!) and the caseworker recommended continued visitation with us. There were reports and etc. that were presented to the court that were not correct (of course, making us look bad).

Final outcome is that Scott and I have to go see a Dr. in Columbia City. The birth parents went last week. I believe that we go on the 13th of July. The Dr. will then make a recommendation to the court stating whether he believes that continued visitation with us will be good or bad for Gregory.

We got to see Gregory on the 11th and we will get to see him this coming Sunday. I am not sure what will happen after this.

Whyatt.....his hearing was on the 14th. The Judge was not very happy with birth mom. She was allowed to leave the girls' home (in our county) and move back to her parents home (over an hour and a half away). Whyatt's grandmother asked the Judge if they could take Whyatt camping and the Judge said OK. They get to pick him up on the 30th of June and will bring him back on the 4th of July. We are having a birthday party for Whyatt on the 2nd and the birth mom and grandparents will bring (and stay) with us for this party.

We have a concern about this camping trip for a number of reasons. Besides the safety issue - he has only had three or four overnight visits with birth mom during this past year - and - none of these have happened in 2006.

The final outcome of this hearing is that we go back to court on the 16th of August. We will learn more then. There were too many recommendations given to the Judge and he was not happy that not everyone agreed to a plan. I will have to take Whyatt to his birth mom's and grandparents home at least once a week. Boy, these will be long days for me.

So...."Now you know the rest of the story."

Hope all is well for everyone else.

Christina

Why can't I get kiddos like yours?? Because you get all of them!! Do you want to share??

Just kidding. We are wanting more little ones in our home - Whyatt is the only one that we have right now. If we loose him - I have to go back to work!! UGH!!!!
