Homestudies
Can a caseworker do a homestudy on their own time? I've been told by someone from another state that they completed theirs for $200, and refer lots of people to SW's who do it for around $200. I called lots of agencies today and almost all want between 1600 and 1900 dollars! I don't have that much sitting back and the Bmom I'm about to present to is due in a little over 2 weeks! Dh's boss will advance us the cost of the adoption, but I don't want to push my luck in asking for more for the homestudy. Also most agencies said they are to busy to get it done in time. (We have background checks ran and all paperwork is complete, all we need is a someone willing to put it all together.)
Any help or advice is appreciated! Jenni |

You sound like me a few months ago. Best advice I can give to you, is to call Catholic Charities. They are not cheap but they really helped us in our time of need. We found out about b-mom two weeks before her due date. Luckily for us she went 2 weeks over! We started our homestudy process first of July more less. We are finished now. You have to go through Adoption Education, write the biography, take the psychlogical exam (that takes 2weeks to grade) They are very supportive which is what we needed.
