Question - don't you think the twins are a little young for you to be searching for them? They're only 16. It's not even legal for them to petition the state for info till they're 21.

good for you :)
I think that it is great that you are making yourself available to your twins. I was adopted too. My adoptive parents always supported me and my desire to know where I came from. If my birthparents made themselves available to us when I was a teenager, I know for a fact that my adoptive parents were secure enough in our relationship that they would have welcomed a reunion. I really think that that is all it boils down to. If the adoptive parents are mature enough to not feel threatened by another relationship then they will support their childs need to know, because ultimately it is in the childs best intrest to have access to having their questions answered, even if a relationship does not develope. Being a teenager is such an adjustment and time of life when you are really sorting out who you are and who you want to be. If I had met my birthparents as a teenager it would have saved us all alot of agony as I continued to search for myself and to understand the simplist things like who did I look like. Don't be discouraged if your twins are not at the point of searching yet...I can guarantee that questions are running though their minds about you. Again, Kudos to you from me, and best of luck with your search.

I thought since the original author of this post had not replied to my question, I thought I'd bump this back up to the top in hopes of her seeing this.
I wasn't asking for info on the twins and their adoption out of idle curiosity. Now......I know a set of twins that are adopted and I don't know tons about their adoption. But I thought if you could tell me some of what you know, I might be able to tell if it was them or not. If you'd rather not post the info out in the open, you could send me a pm. |
