I am 38 years old with no children of my own. I am engaged for
almost three years , soon to be married. My husband-to-be
is 49 , with two older children from a prior marriage who dont live with us. I am an Indian citizen, he a U.S. citizen.

I am worried , that if we have to wait two years before we can adopt , we will be too old to qualify for an infant adoption. Will it be easier if I adopt as a single mother? Are these age limit/2 year marriage rules laid down by agencies or the Indian government, and how strictly are they enforced? I have a large family in India who could help me find a referral.

We are both physicians and would give a child a stable, loving home.
