Does anyone know the meaning of the name Sarat or how it is correctly pronounced?

The only sanskrit meaning I am aware of is "honey bee." The prounounciation would be phonetic, with the exception that you should say the "t" with your tongue on the roof of your mouth. It is very possibly not a sanskrit derived name though. You might want to do some research in Dravidian language families.

Thank you!!! I have found Sarat means a sage, but still unsure of how to correctly pronounce it. Is the "t" more silent? We have been saying it more like, Saaa-rot. Any correction would be greatly appreciated!!!
