Its hard to wait
This is really just a moaning, and complaining post... We went into India adoption knowing that we'd have a long wait between getting our dossier to India, and getting a referral. I think we are at about the 10 month mark... Its a really hard period, and feels very lonely. I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think family and friends really get what a limbo this period is.

We did domestic but I hear you! We were all consumed with the adoption process but looking back I wish I would have taken time to organize the house, go on vacation, walk my dogs etc. You're right-no one else gets it. Try to stay busy, I can't say put it out of your mind because that is impossible. When we finally got the call-my husband got it, I had forgotten my cell phone, was on an errand for work, returned to the office and my coworker told me DH had called. I said ok and proceeded to start eating my lunch when my coworker said, Um I think it's important.
The waiting is hard but meeting your child is terrifying (in the greatest way). Hang in there and I hope your wait isn't much longer ![]() |
