any canadians out there??????
[color="Blue"]
I wanted to find out if there are any Canadians in this group who have adopted from India. We tried to adopt from India in 2004 but could not do so because India had just joined the Hague. Our adoption agency has indicated that unless we have relatives to help us in India this is something that just won't happen. Thank you, Shammi |

I'm not Canadian, but if you will go to the website of India's Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), you will see a list of Canadian organizations with which the Indian government will work to arrange adoptions. Contact those working in your province.
The web address is: http://www.cara.nic.in/carahome.html Sharon

Hi Sharon
Thank you for the info on the CARA website. I actually visited it and saw the agencies. However, what is happening is that eventhough these agencies are listed in there not all of them work with people across Canada. Also I found out that some agencies have been able to work only with people who have relatives in India to help the process along. This sounds really wierd and therefore I wanted to find out if there was any Canadians who have completed an adoption from India without the help of family members living in India. Shammi |
