Whatever agency you use, be SURE that it is accredited by the Central Adoption Resource Administration (CARA), a branch of the Indian government, if you plan to do an Indian adoption. You can find the list of U.S. agencies -- I believe only 40 are accredited -- on the CARA website. Go to Central Adoption Resource Agency.
I would strongly recommend NOT going with an agency that is not CARA-accredited, but that "umbrellas" with an accredited agency. Most foreign governments do not allow such umbrella-ing, as it circumvents the accreditation process. If you want to know more about Indian adoption, go to the website of both CARA and the U.S. State Department. Sharon
