I stumbled on this forum in search for information. Let's hope I find some help here

This is the case:

I'm for one year here in India volunteering in a shelter home for street children.
There is another volunteer here, a 24-year-old Brazilian woman. Let's call her Maria. Maria and her parents are wishing to adopt one of our boys: Sunil.
I'm not 100% sure if it's the best for the boy but he already heard about it and is now very, very eager to go.
Sunil is 13 years old and has parents here in India who are willing to let him go.
Maria's parents (also Brazilians) are in there 50ies or 60ies and have 3 children: two 'boys' of 30+ years and Maria. They would become the adopting couple.

Now the obvious question: Is it possible to adopt the boy? What would be the procedure
Also: One lawyer told Maria that an adoption is not possible because Maria's parents already have two boys. Is there truth in this statement?

All adoptions from India has to go through CARA. Here is the web site for them. http://www.cara.nic.in/carahome.html
It should have the infomation in it that can help you.
