I have two questions;
1. For the americans of non Indian extraction, about how long did it take you from begining to end? Was it difficult dealing with the government? 2. I'm British, but also have American citizenship. My father is British, but was born in India. Would I be able to get Indian citizenship? And would that speed up the process? Thank you in adavnce for your help |

I don't know if you could get Indian citizenship, but if you could, I would definitely recommend it. I am an Indian citizen, and the process is considerably quicker if you have an Indian passport. They are making it harder and harder for non-Indian citizens to adopt infants anymore. Good luck with everything!

I am not sure about Indian citizenship, but you can get a PIO (Person of Indian Origin) card. I am not sure whether that will make adoption easier, though.
Good luck, Anu |
