Another question...

Ok, so as most of you know, we're just now awaiting guardianship and then a date to travel....

My husband is a US citizen, and I'm a greencard holder... Should airfares be way out there, and us only be able to afford for one of us to travel, does it need to be him?

Both of our names are on the I 600A, and therefore the I 171H ...but he is the US citizen.

Hopefully it won't come down to just one of us travelling, but just in case it does, we want to be prepared...

Our preference if it comes down do it, is for me to go ... Would that even be an option?

Thanks in advace,

Jo

questions

Hi Jo, Gosh I don't know though I know the person who signs as the primary has to be the one who files the I-600. Also our agency said that it is customary that if only one person travels it should be the husband as Indian customs don't have women travelling alone. Though- I am travelling alone just due to expense and watching the 4 children here at home. I also would be curious to know how much airline tickets are lately???? Michell

He signed as the primary on the I-600, so I'm betting that means he'd need to be there. I just assumed with all of the immigration that still needed to be done in India that it would have to be him there, but then he helpfully pointed out that my name is on it too...haha. That might be a question for our agency.

Airfares seem to vary a LOT this time of year ... Our agency recommends a few different travel agents, but one is particular comes highly recommended and knows India well. Several families that I've gotten to know say that he's a miracle worker, and will find the best deal every time. If you want his info, just shoot me an email.

How are the nerves holding up? I'm so excited for you ... You are so close now to having your gorgeous son in your arms!

Jo
