rumor Pune court re-opened

Hi Everyone,
What wonderful news as my NRI friend who is in India with her daughter in fostercare just heard her court date is today which means Pune courts are re-opening a surprisingly 1 week after the judge quit. We were 3 days behind my friend so are hoping and praying for a court date this week. We will hear more today from our agency as to the date. It pays to have friends in India
If anyone remembers our first court date we had a compliance so had to write a letter due to our size of family. Does anyone know if the judge usually gives verbal guardianship the next hearing after a compliance or is there 2 more as customary???????? Michell

Any "new" news?? I've been thinking of you!

Only 10 more days till the Delhi courts reopen, and then its fingers crossed for a speedy judge.

Meanwhile I'm keeping busy planning a huge garage sale ... Tomorrow is the big day. I'm still trying to work out just how we've accumlated so much junk around here. My house is thrashed ...it looks like we're moving..lol. Heres hoping we make a nice little bundle of $$ tomorrow, and then I can spend the next few days organising my house again ... by then we'll be down to 6 or 7 days till the courts reopen ... *taps fingers on the desk*. Come on July!

Pune Problems

Although this has nothing to do with Pune courts, I was talking to a friend in India today who said there is a very big case of fraud coming out Pune and it all over the papers there. A orphanage which had CARA licence was talking thousands of dollars from unsuspecting want to be parents and providing false medical reports on the children. In one case child had HIV and his soon to be parents never knew until they arrived in India. It's very sad indeed.

Gosh, I hadn't heard anything about it. I doubt it is our agency as it is highly reputable and run by an american agency though it may be some of the smaller orphanages. I hope this doesn't effect court.

Pune news

I did actually talk to our agency today and they said this problem with Preet mandir has been going on a while in Pune and he doubts this will affect our processing any. I will feel better to have our court case finished first and know we have verbal guardianship. Our next hearing is next Friday June 30. This is our 3rd hearing and 3rd month in court process. Supposedly at our last hearing on Monday they said we were arroved for final hearing on June 30 so I'm assuming we'll get verbal guardianship then. HOPEFULLY!!!! Michell

What agency did you use? My wife and I are strongly considering adopting from India, even knowing the obstacles in place.

We have one agency we contacted that seems solid, but they were quoted in a tabloid on celebrity adoptions so I wonder about them.
