India adoption for NRI Indians changed????

Hi all,
I guess no one wants me here, becuse I haven't had a single reply to my earlier posts!!!!! Anyways, we've just started the Home Study Process and my Dad (in India) informed me yesterday that India adoption is easier now for NRIs!!!! Thought I might share with u all this and also want to know whether it'll be easier for us to bring the child to the US??????

Thanks,

Don't take it personally! This is a very quiet forum and honestly, I didn't know the answer to your question. However, someone did say that CARA changed its rules and NRIs would again be treated more like Indians in India. Whether that means that NRIs will no longer need an NOC or whether they will be able to have children referred before VCA, I don't know.

How far into the process are you? We are just starting the home study. My husband is an NRI. I have read that it is easier for an NRI to adopt from India, than a non NRI. BUT I haven't found out how much easier and in what way. If you know I would like it if you caould share the details.
Also, Is there any agency that deals especially with NRI adoptions??
