records somewhere...
I've been talking to some people recently about my adoption. I understand that because of the way society is in India or at least was in 1987 record keeping didn't happen or was hard to do etc. But doesn't there have to be SOME sort of record about SOMETHING, SOMEWHERE? I just don't understand. Is there seriously nothing? I just want some sort of answer. It is so difficult. I'm turning 18 in about 9 days. Always near my birthday I think about this stuff.

I read somewhere yesterday a new Yahoo group has been created for people with needs like yours. I can't remember what it's called though. I'd also try posting your inquiry to the I-Child Yahoo group. Best wishes.

Hi Beka
Try http://groups.yahoo.com/group/India_Birth_Search/ It is a new group that's started up to discuss searching in India. I joined it recently and it has quite interesting discussions. Julia
