We live in UK and would like to adopt from India. Our local social services -Leeds Social services said they do not handle overseas adoption.

Help needed- Could someone give us a starting point and also about how to go about in india- chennai possibly

I don't know much about India adoptions in the UK but I know that it must be possible because Ichild has a UK email list. Here's the adress to join. I hope they can help you out!

Hi there

We live in the UK and are waiting to be matched.

You will need to ask Leeds council if they have a link to any other local authority who will help you with your application. We had ours processed through Kent County Council.

The best way to gather information about International Adoption is to contact the : Overseas Adoption Helpline - they offer
Information and advice about adopting from abroad
Tel: 0207 226 7666. They are based in High Barnet in North London and are an authorised charity.

Some friendy advice - please do attend the parenting classes conducted by the Overseas Adoption Helpline. They are very helpful and will help and guide you with you decision.
