Adopting from SOS Villages in India
Hi, my name is Ellen, my husband, Mark and I returned July 5th with our daughter, Jyoti from SOS Villages (Golf Links). What a blessing she is!!
I would like to tell everyone that I relayed to Vijay at SOS all the wonderful things that are being said about her on a couple of web groups; she blushed and smiled. I also told her I would send out the following information to anyone planning on traveling to SOS to adopt. If you are planning on taking donations the following items would be greatly appreciated (they aren't listed in the order of importance - everything on the list is important). This information has been passed onto Lisa at Cascade/Children's Hope as well. Shampoo (it's very expensive in India) and Conditioner Lice solution Paper goods (children's composition pads, writing paper & coloring books) Writing tools (pencils, pens, children's colored pencils, children's colored markers and crayons) Clean, good condition clothing and socks and shoes/sandals (of all sizes, even larger sizes for the older kids) Children's medication (Tylenol, cough medicine, ear drop medicine, thermometers, Q-tips, etc) Learning toys (picture books, puzzles, blocks, crafts, nothing that requires batteries) Blankets Healthy snack foods and of course money For those who haven't been to India yet, you can't imagine all the needs of the people who suffer there. My husband and I felt we could've done so much more if we'd known ahead of time. Ellen ![]() |
