  • Caroline, I'm adopted and a mother of origin and twice your age, so I've been down an interesting road with adoption. When I was about 13 I found out a lot of stuff about my mother and siblings. My mother is actually older than my mom and dad....

  • PA Adoption Help
  • by LockerNo333 Last comment: 26 Jan 2015 08:42 AM
  • Hi All, My husband and I are from PA, and we are looking to adopt. I am trying to keep this short, otherwise I will write way too much. I have a slight question about the PA infant adoption policy, and I was hoping someone in PA could assist me. Q1 - If I live in PA, can I adopt from a different state? Q2 - If I can adopt from another state, how do the laws work? Does the agency I go...

  • Depression and Adoption approval???
  • by JenniferWatson Last comment: Yesterday at 03:38 PM
  • Were you able to adopt from Ukraine with the diagnosis of depression after all? I see the post is a few years old. We are meeting with a home study agent next week and I just saw something today online to indicate that if I take medication for anxiety or depression I wouldn't be eligible to adopt.

  • I just lost my message I had written. I forgot my own advice to "copy it first". So annoying- I empathize with everyone who experiences this Anyways... I was just saying that I love everyone on the forums and how you all show so much care and have great advice! cb221b, in admitting you don't have the maturity to deal with possible outcomes of reunion right now, and being able to...

  • by murphypatrick12 Last comment: 25 Jan 2015 01:17 PM
  • It is because the child will try to push the primary parent away by forming quick and superficial bonds with others. By blocking this from happening the child is forced to rely on the parent. They learn that they can count on and trust that the parent will provide and be trustworthy. This rule also prevents others from reinforcing the child's attempts to go to others rather that the parent. Your...

  • Thursdays are stressful
  • by dizzilee Last comment: 52 minutes ago
  • What is it with Thursdays? Our visits were always scheduled on Thursdays too, right after school with five children coming from 3 different schools. Coincidentally, Thursday was often the day that birth mom had a migraine, was sick, or had no transportation but called to cancel only hours before the visit after the Fps had already had all their transportation plans arranged. One week she had...
