  • I confess we have always talked about our kids' siblings. We only have contact with one (out of at least ten), but we tell them what we know. All are half siblings, some we don't even know current names, and most we don't have pictures. We talk about them when we talk about our siblings, or other family members, just when it comes up in conversation. My dad was adopted and has various half...

  • Adoption From Ukraine Success Story
  • by CathyStone Last comment: 16 Dec 2014 01:37 PM
  • Finally I can share two more adoption success stories coming from my sister and neighbors who adopted independently in 2014. As an experienced adopter (I adopted twice from Ukraine) I was helping our neighbors and then my sister adopt from Ukraine. They finally completed their adoption and came back home with kids this year !!! Both of them adopted generally healthy sibling groups: 7 and 10...

  • Hi everyone. I joined this forum a few years ago, and received so much support and help during the most difficult times following my son's adoption. I no longer have access to the old account since I forgot my log-in info, but I am back and searching for support in a new way. My name is Hillary Jones. I am a photographer based in South Florida, where I am studying to earn my Master of Fine Arts...

  • Child who lies, lies, lies!!! And steals.
  • by millie58 Last comment: 12 Dec 2014 06:45 PM
  • What kind of therapy has he been in? What was his past? EMDR works wonders. I am so done with the behavior of my 10 year old!!! Except, obviously, I don't get to be done. I get to parent and love this child who lies ALL THE TIME! And steals. And is defiant. Not bad tempered or oppositional, but classically defiant. And has no clue/care about how he affects those around him, or that he...

  • by elizabeth30 Last comment: Today at 01:28 PM
  • I have had FTT kids, but it was not because someone was not feeding them. They were both premies and one was born very premature (1lb). The other was early with a lot of medical issues. They are both very small if you compare them to kids their age. They eat a lot, but are really active.

  • I can't be a foster parent because of my house... :(
  • by Mommyof3ks Last comment: 18 minutes ago
  • It is hard owning an old house. We will need to do a lot of repairs and replace some windows in the house we are buying to meet state standards. My guess with the carpet is that you can get a shampoo company to come clean it and throw a rug over the tear. The ceiling concern may be that it contains asbestos, because many old ceiling tiles did, and once that is disturbed it needs to be removed....
