  • How did you feel when you learnt about your birth name?
  • by beatricesmith Last comment: 28 minutes ago
  • I don't know about anyone else but I know that when I like a person a lot or feel a deep connection to someone, it usually makes me like their name a little more, even if it isn't a name that I might have liked initially. After knowing them for a while, I wouldn't want them to have any other name but the one they have because it is part of them. Unless one's child's name is particularly awful...

  • HELP! Converting my daughter to orthodox
  • by jennjoom Last comment: Today at 05:22 AM
  • Thanks for your response. Our Rabbi is trying to help us with this but unfortunately cannot connect us to anyone that will allow it because my daughter is in public school. There are a number of reasons not to move her as it will set her backwards rather than forwards. Judaism is of extreme importance to us, but so is my daughter's emotional and mental state. So if you know of anyone that has...

  • Please recognize that use of mental health services is very common in the U.S. People seek mental health help, or are prescribed medication, for a whole range of issues that are not what we normally think of as mental illness -- job stress, fear of flying, sadness over a miscarriage, difficulty communicating with spouse or teenage child, insomnia, and so on. In the U.S., we don't necessarily...

  • If your dad is anything like mine he will not. I dont think it has anything to do with love or respect. My dad is a figidity one. He loves his kids (I'm adopted by him, not legally) and grand kids, but I think we make him nervous LOL. All kid events are hard. Baptisms are just one of many things that "stink".

  • Hi everyone. I would love to talk to other moms raising kids exposed in utero to meth and heroin..or one or the other. We are having huge behavioral challenges with our son, who is 26 months old. Anyone out there who would like a friend to talk to?? I would be very grateful. I feel very alone. Kerry
