  • by Magic_Hat Last comment: 3 minutes ago
  • I think it's unusual because all the sleep books (I've read them all now cause I'm desperate) talk about how challenging it is to get a toddler down. My daughter never wants to go to bed and once down, she calls out with every excuse in the book. Her big one now is "I have to pee/poop" because we are potty training and she knows we'll let her up for that but then she doesn't really have...

  • Support and Direction Needed - Please!
  • by jlallinson Last comment: Today at 06:08 PM
  • Dear Bob, This is a wonderful site and I hope you do find the support and direction that you need to help you. Please know that you are not alone. I would try anything and everything to find your daughter. It is important to wait until the appropriate "age", usually designated by your state. I had also signed up for a variety of reunification sites and had my address updated with my...

  • My kids play in the snow, build snowmen, go sledding, make yellow snow, come in for hot chocolate, movie, charades, board games etc. Making forts is a favorite stuck indoors pastime. Sheets, couch cushions etc. and they just have a ball. We do some chores too and we also do worksheets or play Jeopardy, "Where am I?" (geography game), and other fun but educational things if out of...

  • The NACAC (.org) offers a free downloadable booklet called: Starting and Nurturing Adoptive Parent Groups. I think much of the advice could be applied to starting a group for adoptees as well. Good luck. Sara

  • Anyone needing help in WISCONSIN
  • by SRODRIGUEZ Last comment: 16 minutes ago
  • Do you still do work in Wisconson. I am a adoptee trying to help a friend who is a birthmother. My friend Joan gave away a baby girl in Brookfield West. My friend Joan had her baby girl on Nov.22 1971 at Elmbrook Hospital. She has no info on this baby girl at all. Joan contacted the agency that handled the adoption to update her medical records. They were quite rude and told her she gave away her...

  • Our church did a "dedication." The paster asked us and the congregation questions similar to those asked at a babtism. You know, things like will we always help the child in his Christian journey, etc. The paster even had the congregation step out of the pews, hold hands in a circle around us and our children. (It circled the whole sanctuary) It was symbolic of the whole village...

  • I'm not sure if it's covered by all insurance, my insurance does not cover it, but we were able to get a grant through the state of OH (PASSS) program. Our attachment therapist is doing the biofeedback for us, it's something new that they are trying but biofeedback has been around for 30 years and has had a lot of success with ADHD kids.
