  • Ami, I bet thats a load of your mind. It must be a good feeling to know that it was not as bad as you feared. As far as them being curious..well...they love you and probaly want to know about the one theing they could not give you. If done right...it is a wonderful thing to be able to put all the pieces together.

  • Another Utah foster/adopt mom here. It took us a few months to get our first placement. 10 months later (last month) she went home to her father. Tough on the heart. But we now have a legally free toddler with plans to finalize in the spring. Good luck and welcome! And fingers crossed for you, kisses! That would be awesome!

  • Our adoption disscussions began at about 3-1/2 because of an episode of Little Bill where he talks to his mom about growing in her tummy. I was shocked to realize how much a 3 year old can understand. Granted I explained in very simple terms of how she grew in someone elses tummy but still I am always amazed at how she processes things! She was disapointed at first that she didn't grow in my...

  • I am a registered nurse, and thought I'd offer a few thoughts - The strategy is that when supply is short, it is better to get the first dose out to more, so that more people are at least somewhat protected. Yes, the first dose gives protection. In fact, there was talk of only doing one dose. But it was found that to be fully protected, many young kids need two doses. Also, the time...

  • I came on this website less than a week ago looking for my adopted brother. Not only did this Angel do the search for free, she gave me my brother's amended name, his adoptive parents address and contact numbers. My brother was adopted from birth 28 years ago and I never had any contact with him and now, thanks to Lori we are headed for a reunion. God Bless u Lori and this site for assisting me...

  • It might be different baseed on your location. However, where I am, the child is on medicare until finalization (possibly after that depending on the specific adoption assistnace agreement if any.) However, it also depends on the insurance company. Many will not allow you to add a child until finalization. But mine agreed to do it once our Princess moved in, using the adoptive placement...
