We have received our blue forms--the petition to have an orphan immediately a relative.....but when do we fill this out? Do we wait until we have our boy or what?

We are aslo waiting on the visa for our boy to come. I heard that that will cost us more money, is that true? And does anyone know how long it will take? Waiting for the US Consulate in India? Any experience out there? Will I also need to pay for ane exit exam for the boy?

I didnot adopt from India, but Russia, so not sure if the proceedure is differant, but this is what we did. The blue I-600 from was taken to the US Embassy AFTER the adoption was completed. You can not fill it out until then. Our translater delivered it to the Embassy for us. It was delivered to the embassy along with allt he other paperwork needed to apply for the visa. We recievewd our daughters Visa that afternoon. I do not remember if an additional fee was required because we did not do any financial transactions while in country.. this was handled by the facilitator. The cost of a child US Visa is $335. We paid $100 for the exit exam.
