arrest/no charges/homestudy

No charges were never filed.
My current wife and I want very much to adopt but are so fearful of the homestudy because of this incident. I have never harmed a woman or a child but, I do admit that we were yelling pretty loud. I am a credentialed teacher. The incident was after my credentialing. I am assuming that the INS and criminal background checks are similar to those used for teachers. Could this harm our chances for adoption? Could the investigation compromise my credential? We are completely ready, financially, emotionally...everything but the homestudy. We're scared to death.

P.S. If you were not fingerprinted, a record may not exist of this incident.
