US citizen adopting Moroccan child: child status?
I am an American citizen, living in Morocco, and recently adopted a baby boy.
Does any one know if I can request citizenship for my son based on my own US citizenship despite the fact that I no longer reside in the US? I tried to get information from the local consulat, but they were unable to give me any information, since they only respond to people who live in the US and want to take their child to their US-based homes. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thank you, Nihal |

Hi,
I think if you live with the baby for 2 years, then the baby will get either green card or citizenship, but I also think you'll have to make the baby enter the U.S. to get the Green Card or Citizenship. I am just wondering though, why the people at the U.S. Consulate can't help you out????? Good luck!!!
