BCIS Wait time in Virginia-Norfolk office
Does anyone know the wait time for the Norfolk office in Virginia. I have checked their website and last month dated May 15th they were processing applications received March 10th. I checked today and it is updated as of June 15th and says they are processing applicatiions received March 16th. Please tell me this is a typo...and they are processing dates in April now. My application was received April 19th and I was fingerprinted May 20th. I was expecting approval to come about a month after fingerprinting. If anyone has had experience with this office, please let me know! Thanks!!

Kelly,
Do not know anything about the Norfolk office, but I can tell you that the woman in the Alexandria office (Anne Vigilante) is not gone for 6 weeks at the time she left they had not appointed anyone to take over that office. My guess would be that the Norfolk office is not process everything. I would check with your agency to see what is going on. They may be able to fax a letter to your person and ask them if they are doing the work from Alexandria also and what the new timeline looks like. Hope this information helps! Kelly M. |

Thanks for the information...I am going to contact my agency in the morning and ask them if they combined offices for processing the applications. I sure hope that is not the case. Should I have received any type of confimation other than my fingerprinting letter that they have my application. I am seeing that some people have receipt numbers...I have nothing other than my receipt from the day I was fingerprinted...and there is not a number on it...it is the information sheet I had to fill out with the date of fingerprinting stamped on the bottom. Thanks again for your help! Kelly |

Hi! we are from Virginia Beach, and we filed our I600A in Norfolk office. We got the approval of the I600A which they call I717H, 45 days after we have fingerprinted.
But before that my agency told us that they can turn in our dossier to the Philippines even without the I 717H. Please check with your agency. |

Kelly,
I never got any number either. Maybe it is different for each state, though I am not really sure. You don't need anything else. You got everything I got. It took 9 1/2 weeks for us to get approval from the Alexandria office. Good luck and let me know how things turn out!! Kelly M. |
