I am not quite sure the information I have read recently is accurate. I would like to know: 1) Can I start my INS approval without my finished homestudy? 2) If so, do they hold my approval until they receive my home study? and last 3) How long is an INS approval good for.
Thanks Nancy |

nancygene,
Assuming you are talking about the I600A processing, some local offices allow you to send in your I600A prior to sending in your homestudy. To make sure, I would call and ask your local office. The I600A approval includes not just the info on your application and accompanying documents to that application, but your homestudy and your FBI fingerprints will have to clear. So, no, you cannot get approval until the homestudy has been sent in. Your I600A approval (i.e. I171H) is good for 18 months, but your FBI fingerprints are only good for 15 months past the day the FBI processed them |

INS/Homestudy
We are adopting from the Phils., during our homestudy process our agency told us to file the I 600A, and as soon as the homestudy is done they will send one copy to the INS.
And later on, they told me that they can send the dossier to the phils even without the approve I 717H, we can send that later on. |
