DH and I have both been fingerprinted for seperate reasons (he for the adoption of my bio-son, me for a teaching credential), and we are considering a foreign adoption. Do we still have to pay yet another $50 each to get fingerprinted? Or is it possible that they actually keep track of these things and share information and we can simply ask BCIS to look at previous fingerprints?

But-but-but
Do we need to get inked again? Or can the agencies we have fingerprints with send them to the agencies that need the prints???

Regarding finger prints,
I work for the federal government (not doing anything secretive!)and had just had a major background security check done complete with FBI prints when I needed my adoption prints done..It didn't matter, I had to go through the printing again. My social worker who has been doing home studies for 24 years plus told me she'd worked with many FBI agents adopting kids and they all had to get prints done again, too...so there's no getting around it as far as I know. I do think my turnaround time might have been a little faster, though. Who knows! Good luck...it will go faster than you think. Debbie |
