MY MOTHER GAVE BIRTH TO ME IN FEBRUARY 1973. SHE WAS ONLY 15. SHE LIVED IN INDIANA BUT GAVE BIRTH IN ILLINOIS. HER BOYFRIEND WAS 16 AT THE TIME. ODDLY, HIS NAME WAS WILLIAM, AS WELL AS MY MOTHER'S FATHER. MY MOTHER USED THE NAME "PAMELA" ON MY RECORDS. IT WAS A CLOSED ADOPTION. I WISH I KNEW THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I'VE HAD THE STATE CONTACT HER WITH NO REPLY IN 5 YEARS. I KNOW I HAVE 3 SIBLINGS FROM HER. I SO WISH TO KNOW THEM. MY BIRTHFATHER HAD 2 BOYS. I GUESS I JUST FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT NOT ONE OF THE FIVE SIBLINGS DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME!!! I'M SO FRUSTRATED. MY BIRTHMOM AND DAD ARE BOTH DIVORCED. I BELIEVE THE LAST MARRIAGE MY MOTHER HAD WAS TO A MAN THAT WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. SHE TRAVELS WITH HER MOTHER (MY GRANDMOTHER) AND SISTER (MY AUNT). I'VE BEEN TOLD SHE HAS A BROTHER WHO MAY BE IN A JAIL SOMEWHERE OUT WEST. ((((I DON'T CARE))))) I HAVE THIS VOID IN MY LIFE THAT ONLY YOU CAN FILL. I HAVE 3 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN AND THANK GOD THEY WILL ALL GROW UP TOGETHER. I FEEL THAT I'VE MISSED OUT ON KNOWING MY BROTHER'S AND SISTERS. I HAD A REALLY COOL LIFE GROWING UP AND I DON'T WISH TO HURT ANYONE BY MY SEARCH. I ONLY WISH FOR A MOMENT OF YOUR TIME TO TALK. I HAD BLONDE HAIR UNTIL ABOUT 7TH GRADE, AS I GOT OLDER IT TURNED LIGHT BROWN WITH NATURAL REDDISH AND BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS. I HAVE BLUE EYES. I HAD LOTS OF FRECKLES ON MY NOSE WHEN I WAS YOUNGER. AND ALL MY KIDS ARE THE SPITTING IMAGE OF ME! SO I KNOW THAT WE LOOK ALIKE TO SOME EXTENT. ALOT OF THE INFO ON THE RECORDS WAS FALSE (LIKE HER NAME...IT MAY NOT BE PAMELA) AND HER ADDRESS. I'M 5"3 AND HAVE A SM/MED ATHLETIC BUILD. IF YOU THINK WE COULD BE SISTERS/ BROTHER OR ANY BIRTH FAMILY AT ALL, PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW! I HAVE WANTED TO GIVE UP SO MANY TIMES...BUT MY HEART WON'T LET THIS GO. Hey I feel your pain-I know nothing about my adoption,only the hospital and that was Oak Park Hospital, Oak Park, IL Who knows that could be a lie as well. I would like to thank my bmom for giving me life. I was born in Feb of 73. Just thought I would write to for along shot.

My acceptance has come from believing that though I MAY BE READY....they are not. When all parties are---we will find each other. Keep the faith. M.

long shot, but I am a female born approx. oct/nov 1975. I was adopted in Dec. 1975 through the Elgin, Illinois DCFS. I had VERY blonde curly hair as a toddler and the blond eventually turned light brown w/a hint of red. Although my eyes are brown, and I'm 5'9'' and since I've been lazy w/the exercise I'm a little overweight at the moment (I go up and down alot!) My son looks just like me (blonde curly hair) but with blue eyes.

Unfortunately that is absolutely all I know at this time as I am currently waiting to receive my Non-ID info.

Hi there! You know, Elgin is close to Aurora and I know my natural mom may have lived there too. If she was 17-18 at the time of your birth (something you may find out in your non-id info) you just never know. I do not know if my mother kept all of my siblings. So I suppose anything is possible. Although our physical characteristics sound similar, I wonder....You think we could IM or share pics of each other and our kids? See if we look anything alike? At this point, I believe things happen for a reason. If the only reason is to share a friendship and thoughts, that's fine by me I won't give up looking anyway.

You need to contact Ill. dept of public heath and ask for ID/non ID info packets. they will send you stuff to fill out.
Also, register on the ISRR. If someone is looking for you, you'll know right away. But, putting yourself on it will increase your chances!
type in "1980's adoption boards" into your browser and see where it takes you.
I'll look in the databases I am aware of...if i find anything for your b-date, I'll post it here.

I was reading you posting and it must have touched a nerve because here I sit with tears in my eyes. Well, your story sounds a lot like mine, so at least we are not alone! I was born 12/30/78 at Cook County Hosp. in Chicago, IL. I have 3 or more bio- sisters here in Southern CA (about 10 minutes from where I live). I would give anything to meet just one of them! I have a beautiful 5 year old girl and my parents just adopted another baby! So my daughter has been asking a lot of question as to who's belly did I come out of and it seems to get harder to deal with as the years pass. I find that at 26 my new adopted sister has broght so many hidden feelings to the surface and I wonder why none of my siblings ever cared to know me. What did I do? I have heard a million times that I did not do anything, but then why does this new baby's family care so much? My parents can't get rid of the 17 year old sibling to save their souls. Alll I know is that my ties are to the Poulson or Morrow but I don't have a spelling for any of the names.
As far as the void, I have come to the conclusion that after 12 years of looking it will never be filled. I have tried so hard to cover it, but every year on my birthday I fall apart and I get so mad at everybody. I hate feeling this way!
Well, I am rambling so I will stop now.
