Dave66,
Do you still live in chicago? I'm currently trying to get you the old name of the hospital. I grew up around there. Wood family names are very common, so it could be difficult. Especially in that neighborhood or area. I actually knew 3 family's with that last name and they were not related. The hospital was privitized about 15 years ago, my son was born there. I belive that the city of Chicago ran it before the Sisters of the Resurection... Main Facility is on Talcott ave. in Chicago. Known as Ressurection Hospital (as opposed to Our Lady...). It was there first expansion. The facility on Talcott may have the aquired records from there original purchase of Our Lady on Addison, you can try there. What agency where you adopted from? al-tj1969 |

al-tj1969,
Yes, I still live in Chicago, the adoption was private. My adopted mother is getting me the original contract (it has been locked in a saftey deposit box) which I should get the lawyers name. My adopted parents also shared the same docter at the time. I know my birth parents and Adopted parents never met. The doctor refered the lawyer to both set of parents. I dont know how common this practice was but knowing this information has been pretty tough mentally. Sometimes I feel that I was bought and sold like a piece of property. Also I am considered a dead person to my birth siblings. As far as the Hospital name I know the name has changed quite often and people commonly refer to the hospital as Our Lady of the Perpetual Name Change Thanks for your help |
